The School of General Engineering (SGE) has been selected by the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs and the Ministry of Education of China as an "International Model School" with a "Pioneer Project for an International Model School of Higher Education". The SGE faculty consists of reknowned international professors and outstanding International Advisory Committee (IAC) members. The bachelor's degree program is designed as an outcomes/competency-based program of four years. The SGE recruits both Chinese and international students. The entire core curriculum will be provided by international professors in English and at the Xueyuan Road Campus. The designation of the curriculum system fully integrates Beihang University's teaching theory,which is highly focused on mathematics and engineering skills. After three semesters of English training and general education, students will follow training tracks according to their chosen major. After successfully finishing undergraduate studies, qualified students will be awarded their Certification of Graduation, Bachelor's degree of engineering, as well as "BUAA-Engineering Leadership Program Certificate" and "NAE Grand Challenges Scholars Program (GCSP) Certificate". The SGE provides an international study environment and small-size classes to establish a solid foundation for engineering science and interdisciplinary researches. The program aims to cultivate the capabilities of cooperation and innovation, the qualities of International, Interdisciplinary, Innovation,Integration, and Leadership (I4L).
