学会发展现状

（一）组织会议情况 R1-6WH5?5Ye9!4p

1999年11月29日至12月2日在北京召开了由中国科学院主办、十九个部委和机构协办的第一届数字地球国际会议，这是世界上第一个以数字地球为主题的国际性会议。李岚清副总理出席会议并致辞，路甬祥院长作为大会主席作了关于“合作开发数字地球，共享全球数据资源”的主旨发言，会议还邀请10位国际知名专家作了大会特邀报告。来自27个国家的500余名代表围绕数字地球的概念和认识、理论与技术、应用前景等方面开展交流和热烈的讨论。会议通过了《数字地球北京宣言》，通过了每两年举办一届国际会议的决议。 d5:6Xl,~7SL36l

为了推动数字地球的发展，2000年成立了数字地球国际会议国际指导委员会及秘书处，路甬祥院长为主席。国际数字地球会议在会议国际指导委员会和学会执委会的组织下，分别于2001、2003、2005、2007、2009年在加拿大、捷克、日本、美国和中国成功地召开了第二、三、四、五、六届国际数字地球会议。2006年，在新西兰召开了“数字地球可持续发展高峰会议”，新西兰总理克拉克出席会议并致辞。第二、三届数字地球高峰会议分别于2008年、2010年在德国波茨坦和保加利亚内塞巴尔召开。系列会议的举办均吸引了来自几十个国家的数百名代表参加。 E4:5hx9?1JQ9+4u

The International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) was founded in Beijing China in 2006. ISDE is an international organization principally promoting academic exchange, science and technology innovation, education, and international collaboration towards Digital Earth. ISDE's Founding President is Academician Yongxiang Lu, Honorary President is Academician Huadong Guo, and current President is Dr. Alessandro Annoni. With the global response to the initiative of "Digital Earth" raised by the former USA Vice President Al Gore, the first International Symposium on Digital Earth was held in Beijing China in 1999. More than one thousand scientists, engineers, educators and governors from nearly 40 countries worldwide attended the symposium, and approved the 1999 Beijing Declaration on Digital Earth. During this symposium, an International Steering Committee of the International Symposium on Digital Earth was established to organize subsequent symposia in the coming years. In 2006, the International Society for Digital Earth was formally established and the secretariat was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. C9+9ls,?1Do5=7f

Following the success of the first symposium, series of symposia are held every two years in different countries. To meet the demand of deep and full communication on specific academic themes, since 2006, Digital Earth Summits have been organized between the biannual symposia. After 20 years’ development, eleven symposia and eight summits have been held in 13 countries worldwide. Two milestone documents - 2009 Beijing Declaration on Digital Earth and 2019 Florence Declaration on Digital Earth were approved and released during the symposia. H3:3hC62lP2?2E

In addition, ISDE organized Workshops on Digital Earth Vision towards 2020 and towards 2030 respectively in 2011 and 2020, which attracted quite a few scientists in the field of Digital Earth to contribute their thoughts and perspectives. After the workshop in 2011, a position paper entitled "Next-Generation Digital Earth" was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS), and another paper "Digital Earth 2020: towards the vision for the next decade" in the International Journal of Digital Earth. Important to the professional standing of the ISDE is the addition of an international peer-reviewed academic journal, the International Journal of Digital Earth (IJDE). The highly rated journal is published jointly by the ISDE and the Taylor & Francis Group. Inaugurated in March 2008, the IJDE was accepted for coverage by the Science Citation Index in 2009. The journal receives an impact factor of 3.097 in 2020, ranking 14/30 (Q2) in the Remote Sensing category and 17/50 (Q2) in the Geography, Physical category. In 2017, ISDE launched another international journal- Big Earth Data jointly with Taylor & Francis Group. The Big Earth Data is the world's first big data journal on Earth sciences jointly published by the International Society for Digital Earth, the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Taylor & Francis Group. The Digital Earth initiative fits within many global organizations' missions through sharing knowledge and ideas about Digital Earth and seeking global benefits using Digital Earth technology. In 2009, the ISDE joined the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), the world’s largest intergovernmental organization on using geospatial data. The ISDE also has established partnerships with the Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA), the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association, and the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment. In 2017, the ISDE was recognized as a member of the International Council for Science (ICSU), now is the International Science Council). In August 2019, ISDE becomes a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management-Geospatial Societies (UN-GGIM GS).
